An update from 2005 and 2008 winner Ian Thorpe

With the deadline for entries for this year’s St Andrews Prize fast approaching, it is great to hear from our two-time Prize winner, Ian Thorpe of the Africa Trust.

Ian won the Prize in 2005 and 2008 with his two projects, the Elephant Pump and the Elephant Toilet. Since then they have been able to improve sanitation for millions of people across Africa, and Ian recognises the impact that winning the Prize has had on the projects.

As well as opening doors to additional funding to allow the expansion across Africa, the associated contacts and support networks they have built up through entering the St Andrews Prize have proved invaluable to the African Trust.

Don’t miss your chance to follow in Ian’s footsteps by submitting your project for the 2017 Prize by Monday 31st October.
